Riphah

BS Biomedical Sciences

Introduction

Biomedical Science study how the human body functions to maintain our health. This field of study examines organs, small cells, and entire systems to learn more about what makes humans function. They can combat diseases and create better remedies with the use of this knowledge. Just consider the plethora of recent medical advancements! Antibiotics and vaccines shield us against illness. We now have improved means to control heart problems and other health conditions, as well as insulin for diabetes. Biomedical science is improving even cancer treatments and procedures. Researchers are also employing sophisticated instruments to view our genes and the minuscule components of life. This allows them to better understand illnesses and provide customized treatments for you rather than using a one-size-fits-all strategy! The Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science program presents a unique opportunity to embark on a journey within this dynamic field. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the foundational scientific disciplines that underpin the daily practice of medicine. This program integrates knowledge from diverse disciplines, fostering a synergistic learning experience. Riphah provides exceptional learning facilities, including cutting-edge laboratories, a well-equipped library, and advanced computer resources, to empower your academic journey. They seek to recruit the most brilliant minds in Pakistan, with the vision of nurturing them into the healthcare heroes of tomorrow.

The program spans over four years (eight semesters) and comprises 138 credit hours. The semester-wise breakup of curriculum is given on subsequent pages.

Aim
The main objective of the Biomedical Sciences (BS) course is to provide students with fundamental information and abilities that will enable them to advance to graduate programs in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical research, and other healthcare-related fields.
Career opportunity
A Biomedical Sciences degree opens doors to a wide range of career paths! From government and commercial labs to universities, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies, you could be conducting research, working in administration, or even pursuing fields like education. The possibilities are vast, encompassing roles like anatomist, biochemist, geneticist, and more.
