INTRODUCTION:

Riphah Institute of Language and Literature (RILL) was established in 2015 under the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSS&H) at Riphah International University, Lahore Campus. The institute currently offers BS English (Language and Literature), MPhil English (Literature), MPhil English (Linguistics), and PhD English (Linguistics). There are 8 PhD and 18 MPhil faculty members. RILL takes pride in having both local and international faculty members who are highly proficient and dedicated. Along with building a strong foundation of theoretical knowledge, RILL provides its students with opportunities to participate in various practical activities through societies, clubs, workshops, and more.

Since its establishment, it has been dedicated to cultivating a tradition of innovative teaching and learning. As a premier institute within the university, RILL supports students in their academic, intellectual, and ethical growth. The institute is committed to developing a community of creative yet critical thinkers in the realms of academia and research. Additionally, the department strives to instill in students a positive outlook on the world around them.

RILL offers a range of student-centered learning opportunities in literature and language studies at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Our research-driven courses enable students to specialize in Literature, Linguistics, and Applied Linguistics. The undergraduate programs are rigorous and enriching, fostering a profound understanding of English Literature. Moreover, the institute emphasizes a comprehensive scientific study of the English language through its Linguistics and Applied Linguistics programs.

Furthermore, RILL is dedicated to advancing local and Islamic perspectives in knowledge comprehension and dissemination. By critically evaluating Eurocentric theories, the institute seeks to deconstruct conventional concepts and reframe them to align with indigenous needs
