RIPHAH INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITIES

Faculty of Rehabilitation and Allied Health Sciences(FRAHS)

(Established on June 18, 2018)

Embarking on its journey in December 2007, the field of rehabilitation sciences witnessed a significant milestone with the establishment of the College of Rehabilitation Sciences in Islamabad under the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. The subsequent extraordinary growth and achievements led to the Board of Governors (BOGs) of Riphah endorsing the creation of an independent entity, the Faculty of Rehabilitation and Allied Health Sciences (FRAHS), in June 2018.

Comprising institutions recognized as Riphah College of Rehabilitation & Allied Health Sciences (RCRAHS) across various university campuses, the faculty has played a crucial role in advancing rehabilitation and allied health sciences. It has been instrumental in nurturing knowledge, clinical skills, and research competencies.

FRAHS has notably contributed to the development of the national curriculum for the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC). A distinctive accomplishment is the establishment of the Rehab Certification Board, offering certifications in diverse specialties to address societal needs.

Setting itself apart on a national scale, FRAHS stands out with its distinguished clinical training facilities. It takes pride in being the first institute in the country to introduce the concept of Rehab house officers, providing paid house job opportunities to DPT graduates. Additionally, a paid Postgraduate Trainee Program in rehabilitation disciplines has been successfully instituted.

The faculty members have left an indelible mark by publishing over 300 research articles in impactfactor journals. Furthermore, their contributions extend to the publication of the “Journal of Riphah College of Rehabilitation Sciences (JRCRS),” recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC).

Notably, FRAHS is the sole institute to feature exclusive female-only campuses in Islamabad and Lahore, emphasizing its uniqueness. These specialized campuses provide an exceptional environment with state-of-the-art labs and hospital attachments, offering comprehensive facilities specifically designed for clinical training.
