The Department of English Linguistics and Literature initiated Faculty Development Seminar/Webinar Series to give professional training to the faculty members. The series was inaugurated with an interactive session with Dr. Rebecca Fox, Professor of Education and Director of the Division of the Advanced Professional Teacher Development and International Education (APTDIE). In total, three webinars were held with Dr. Rebecca Fox and one with Dr. Ajmal Gulzar, Associate Professor, AIOU.

The seminar series focused on polishing the faculty members’ strategies to achieve active learner engagement in their classroom settings. Dr. Rebecca Fox, Professor of Education, George Mason University, has been an active facilitator through the seminar series. Moreover, Dr. Ajmal Gulzar also facilitated the faculty members in understanding the hurdles in the way of online teaching. Dr. Ajmal Gulzar briefed the faculty members about the integral use of technology in classrooms. He further highlighted how technology plays a vital part in developing the cognitive skills of the students.

The Faculty Development Seminar Series proved to be highly influential whereby, the faculty members got the opportunity to reflect upon their efforts of inculcating the said strategies in their classrooms. The initiative facilitated the faculty members enormously.
