Stepping into university life can cause much anxiety to new students especially in times of a pandemic. Therefore, to keep the students’ spirits high in such times, a pre-orientation session was conducted on 8th Oct for the new students of BS English Linguistics and Literature. The faculty members, under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Shaban, Head of Department, ensured the students of a future full of many academic and professional opportunities. The students and their family members were welcomed by Dr. Samina Nadeem, Assistant Professor, Department of English, with a note of hope and fearlessness. Moving on, the students were given a briefing about the schedule of classes, the courses taught, university rules and regulations, and much more. The alumni of the Department of English Linguistics and Literature shared their interesting experiences of university life with the newly inducted students. Lastly, Dr. Shaban highlighted the career prospects which would be awaiting the students after successful completion of the degree. The session came to an end with the worthy Head of the Department’s promise of professional growth to students.
