Dr. Rashid Mansoor is currently Assistant Professor at Faculty of Management Sciences, Riphah International University (RIU), and Associate Editor, Journal of Islamic Business and Management, Riphah Centre for Islamic Business. He teaches various Economics and Islamic Finance courses at RIU. He is also a Shariah Consultant, working with leading Shariah scholars in the field of Islamic finance in providing Shariah compliance advisory to firms and banks. Previously, he has served in the Islamic banking industry for approximately six years in various managerial capacities.
He has a PhD in Islamic Finance from INCEIF, Malaysia, MS in Economics from LUMS, Pakistan, and BSc (Hons) Economics from International Islamic University Islamabad. Fluent in four languages, he is a Certified Trainer by IMS Knowledge (in collaboration with FranklinCovey Pakistan), topper of the prestigious Islamic Banking Certificate Course offered by State Bank of Pakistan, gold medallist, and Certified Shariah Advisor and Auditor (CSAA) candidate at AAOIFI, Bahrain. His research interests include studying the impacts of financial crises, financial inclusion, and Islamic social finance on poverty and income inequality.
