By studying media studies you will face the challenge of keeping pace with the latest trends, technologies and debates. Media studies degrees aim to prepare students for work in media-related industries, and train them to critically analyze the ways in which the media reflects, represents and influences the world.
Media studies courses may vary significantly in their content and approach to the subject, but most offer a combination of practical preparation for various media careers, alongside opportunities to analyze media representations from different perspectives – including moral, political and historical. This course is founded on the notion that students will be benefited increasingly if they are engage with practicality along with the theoretical aspects. The programme will enable the students to explore and acquire a broad understanding of media and its interdisciplinary prospects.
The curriculum will instigate the foundation of the idea development, script writing, visual communication, cinematography and other production skills. It enables students to professionally apply these skills to various video projects.
The programme is designed to also empower students to be familiar with the functioning of broadcast technologies, across a wide range of interconnect disciplines form narrative fiction, news and current affairs programme to drama and documentary production. The students learn panel skills, and how to produce various TV programs using the skills of producing and direction. RIMS is founded and endorsed by the industry, we are able to provide quality and first hand knowledge about all the practical and theoretical framework of production and direction. RIMS faculty comprised of highly experienced instructors and industry practitioners. The program of study consists of lectures, workshops and seminars, and field trips.
You will experience the process in which media products are created and the social and cultural factors that shape and influence the creative process. You will explore these issues through substantial production work together with reflective critical analysis of your own and other people’s work. Most of media products are produced by teams of people, so you will develop the ability to work in groups to engage your ideas creatively in practical outcomes. You will utilize practical skills such as budgeting and time management and then combine them with technical production skills.
