A three-member team comprising of Dr. Muhammad Zubair, Dean Faculty of Computing, Dr. Muhammad Yousaf Director RISE, and Dr. Musharif Ahmed, Head of Department at FC, visited Maldives on account of project progress meeting of European Union funded project. The purpose of this project is to build the capacity of Asian Universities for International Accreditation of academic programs. There are nine Asian partner universities in the project out of which three belong to Pakistan. There are two European partner universities, namely University of Bremen, Germany, and University of Evora, Portugal.

During the visit, the team had a series of meetings with other partners regarding the progress of the project including project managers meeting, quality board meeting and financial office meeting. The meetings were jointly hosted by the Maldives National University and Villa College. The Vice-Chancellor Maldives National University Dr. Mohamed Shareef hosted a dinner for the participants. The dinner was also attended by the Pakistani High Commissioner in Maldives Vice Admiral® Muhammad Fayyaz Gilani and Deputy Head of Mission Mr. Zulqarnain Ahmad . At this occasion, a souvenir was jointly presented on behalf of the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor Riphah International University by the Pakistani High Commission and Dr. Muhammad Zubair to the Vice Chancellor Maldives National University. The team also visited both the host universities and saw various departments, laboratories and other facilities
