The MS in Electrical Engineering at RIPHAH International University is a two year (four semesters) 34 credit hours program and requires completion of 28 credit hours of course work and 6 credit hours of thesis. Currently it is offered with the following four concentrations:
The course work in these four concentrations provides the students with a solid theoretical and practical foundation to embark on research with myriads of applications in academia, industry, defense and healthcare. Each student enrolled in
this program must also complete an independent study/thesis on topics related to relevant concentrations as suggested by the faculty member or proposed by external research and development organizations. Flexibility in the program is allowed in order to accommodate the diverse backgrounds, available resources and different abilities of the enrolled students. After a successful completion of this program, the student should be equipped with the fundamental knowledge of signal processing and control, respectively, as they are applied in engineering problems.
OBJECTIVES OF THE MS PROGRAMME
Graduates of the Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering program would have:
1. An ability to apply their undergraduate knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering in greater depths and with rigor.
2. An ability to function on larger teams.
3. An ability to identify, formulate and solve complex engineering problems.
4. A deeper understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
5. An ability to communicate effectively with their peers and colleagues.
6. The specific information to understand the impact of their area of specialization on engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context.
7. Recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning.
8. Knowledge of contemporary issues in Electrical Engineering.
9. An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools and models necessary for engineering practice.
10. A sound technical knowledge of the area of specialization.
11. The ability to conduct meaningful research in the area of specialization.
12. The ability to present their work for peer review.
Merit Scholarships for MS Electrical Engineering:
Mumtaz Scholarship:
Students securing any position among top 20% of class strength in university exam of the respective academic term are eligible. These students have attained SGPA of 3.50 or above in case of semester system. This scholarship is awarded from 2nd term/semester onward and available simultaneously to students eligible for Musabiqat Scholarship.
Musabiqat Scholarship:
Students eligible for Musabiqat Scholarship and securing any of top three positions in exams of Riphah International University for BS/MS degree programs of the respective academic term are eligible. These students have attained SGPA of 3.71 or above.
