Goals and Objectives of the Program
Riphah Institute of Language and Literature is launching an Associate Degree Program (ADP) in English to address the English
language deficit in Pakistan. This program caters to learners from diverse backgrounds and aims to bridge the language competence
gap. The program encompasses key areas: General Education, English Language Competence, English Literature and Linguistic
Knowledge, as well as practical and professional aspects. It responds to the global prominence of English by enhancing students’
language skills for societal improvement and employment. The program’s major objectives include providing comprehensive
education, raising awareness about English, improving language competence through short courses, equipping students with practical
skills, fostering responsive graduate and research programs, nurturing critical analysis, defending humanities and Islamic values, and
preparing students for roles like teaching, interpretation, and media. Our Associate Degree Program (ADP) in English offers a comprehensive
curriculum with a special focus on equipping students with essential knowledge and skills to excel in various academic and professional spheres.
Key Highlights of the Program:

1. Alongside core English subjects, students engage in a selection of general courses, such as Political Science, Philosophy, and Quantitative
   Reasoning.
2. Students delve into the basics and history of English literature, exploring literary masterpieces.
3. A comprehensive overview of linguistics and its various branches, including phonetics, syntax, semantics, sociolinguistics, etc., is crucial
   to our program.
4. Our program hones students’ writing and presentation skills through hands-on exercises and workshops.
5. Graduates of our ADP can pursue higher studies in various English-related disciplines or seek employment opportunities in various fields.
