Basel, Switzerland – Riphah International University proudly represented Pakistan on the global stage at the prestigious AMEE 2024 Conference held at the Messe Congress Center in Basel, Switzerland. Led by Mr. Hassan Muhammad Khan (Chancellor), Prof. Dr. Yawar Hayat Khan (Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics), and Prof. Dr. Rehan Ahmad Khan (Dean, RIA), Riphah’s delegation played a significant role in this landmark event for health professions education.

The highlight of the conference was Riphah receiving the ASPIRE to Excellence Certificate of Merit in the domain of Faculty Development, making it the only institution from Pakistan to be honored with this prestigious accolade. This recognition underscores Riphah’s dedication to fostering innovation and excellence in medical education.

Prof. Dr. Yawar Hayat Khan shared his reflections on the event:
“AMEE 2024 was an extraordinary experience, bringing together educators, researchers, and leaders in health professions education (HPE) from around the globe. It was an inspiring platform for networking, learning, and exploring opportunities for collaboration. Basel, with its rich culture and stunning location on the Rhine River, provided a perfect backdrop for this monumental gathering.”

Riphah’s booth at the exhibition area attracted significant attention from visitors, offering insights into the university’s initiatives and distributing brochures and gifts promoting the upcoming ICME & IMEC Joint Conference, scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in October 2025.
