Thursday, 21st November 2024
The Department of Optometry & Orthoptics, FRAHS, GGC Islamabad proudly commemorated World Sight Day under the theme “Children, Love Your Eyes” through impactful activities, including a Photography Competition, a Free Eye Screening Camp, and an Awareness Workshop.
The Photography Competition, supervised by Miss Namra Kanwal, inspired creativity among students while raising awareness about children’s eye health. At Roots International School, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, a Free Eye Screening Camp was successfully conducted, led by Miss Fareena Tehreem along with enthusiastic students from the department. These activities were a significant opportunity for O&O students to apply theoretical knowledge, refine practical skills, and foster a strong sense of social responsibility.
Ms. Momina Javed conducted an engaging Workshop on Vision Assessment and Eye Screening for early-years children, focusing on healthy eye care habits and preventive measures.
Special acknowledgment goes to Dr. Laraib Umer (HOD) for her visionary leadership, Dr. Arshad Nawab Malik (Principal, FRAHS) for his continuous support, and Dr. Sarwat Jameela (Director, GGC Islamabad) for her encouragement for making these activities impactful and successful.
