Riphah International University Receives AMEE ASPIRE Excellence Award 2026 at AMEE Conference in Vienna

Riphah International University proudly received the prestigious AMEE ASPIRE Excellence Award 2026 in Assessment of Students during the AMEE 2026 Conference in Vienna, Austria, marking another significant milestone in the University's journey of excellence in medical education.
The award was formally presented at the annual conference of the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE), one of the world's leading organizations dedicated to advancing excellence and innovation in medical and health professions education. The recognition places Riphah among institutions internationally recognized for exemplary practices in the assessment of students.
Representing Riphah International University at the event, Dr. Yawar Hayat Khan, Deputy Vice Chancellor, expressed his gratitude and honour at receiving the award on behalf of the University. He acknowledged the vision and support of the University's leadership, including the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, Deans, Directors, faculty, professional staff, and the teams whose collective efforts contributed to this international achievement.
The award also recognizes the sustained efforts of the Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences (FHMS) and its leadership under Major General Professor Dr. Najm us Saqib Khan HI (M), T.Bt, Retd., Dean FHMS and Principal, Islamic International Medical College, along with the University's assessment leadership and faculty members who have worked continuously to strengthen assessment practices and promote educational quality.
Riphah's Contribution to the AMEE 2026 Conference
Beyond receiving the ASPIRE Excellence Award, Riphah International University actively contributed to the academic discourse at AMEE 2026.
Dr. Rehan Ahmed Khan, Dean, Riphah Institute of Assessment (RIA), participated as a speaker in the Ottawa Symposium, “Can I Trust You? How Shifts in Assessment and Technology Impact Stakeholders’ Trust.” His presentation, “Technological Shifts Impacting Assessment and Trust,” examined how emerging technologies are transforming assessment practices and shaping the trust of stakeholders in medical education.
His participation reflected Riphah's broader engagement with international conversations surrounding the future of assessment, technology, educational quality, and professional competence.
A Third Consecutive ASPIRE Recognition
The AMEE 2026 recognition represents the third consecutive year in which Riphah International University has received recognition through the prestigious AMEE ASPIRE framework:
