Student Development
Our Initiatives & Activities
Tarbiyah Orientation: TRC organizes orientation sessions for newly admitted students to familiarize them with the university's tarbiyah activities and policies. These sessions are arranged based on the specific requirements of each faculty or department. Additionally, TRC arranges the distribution of books (Way to the Quran) to all new students and scarves to female students across all campuses as gifts.
Mentoring Program: Riphah has established a mentoring program to:
- Empower students for their learning and holistic development
- Develop a proactive, long-term approach and pursuit of excellence
- Enable students to develop their life vision in line with their ideology and purpose
Students are grouped into batches of 25–30, each led by a faculty mentor in bi-monthly sessions. They reflect on their roles as Servants of Allah, students, family members, Pakistani citizens, and Ummati, writing their vision for each and creating action plans. Portfolios with prompts help them articulate their vision and plan steps to achieve it.
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Workshops: As part of its focus on holistic development, TRC organizes lectures and workshops to support students' social and emotional learning (SEL). This ongoing training program is offered based on the requests and needs of departments, aiming to help students develop essential life skills. TRC has created resources for these workshops, including a facilitator manual and student handouts. The sessions cover key themes such as personal development, communication skills, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, stress and anxiety management, and ethical behavior in relationships.
Riphah Leaders of Tomorrow: Riphah Leaders of Tomorrow (RLT) is a long-term extracurricular program aimed at developing ethically-oriented future leaders with the skills and exposure needed to lead. Selected students from each intake participate, and the activities extend throughout their degree program. These include 3-4 day retreats, on-campus campaigns, community service projects, thought leadership seminars, and a capstone project focused on advocacy or entrepreneurship.
Quran, Seerah, and Iqbal Societies: In collaboration with the Student Services Department (SSD), TRC has supported the establishment of student societies, including the Quran Society and Iqbal Society, to engage students with the teachings of the Quran, Seerah, and Iqbal. TRC provides guidance, resources, and facilitates the students in organizing regular sessions, campaigns, seminars, and large events.
