Program Description
It is an integrated program in various fields of pathology fulfilling the need for basic as well as applied aspects of pathology. The students will be able to acquire advanced and specialized training in different fields of pathology. It will prepare the students to become entrepreneurs, teachers, researcher, or to fit into equipping themselves to the future needs along with the basic and applied knowledge of clinical laboratory. The aim of this program is to provide scientific, technical and laboratory oriented trained workforce who can demonstrate and apply the laboratory knowledge in solving specific problems in new situations.

Entry Requirements for MS/M.Phil. Programs
To be eligible for admission to the MS/M.Phil.-level programs, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Academic Qualifications
- Hold a bachelor's or master's degree (16 years of education) in a relevant discipline from a recognized university or Degree Awarding Institute (DAI).
- Achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.4 in a semester system or at least 60% marks in an annual system.
Admission Test
- Pass the university/departmental admission test.
- Candidates expelled or rusticated from any university/DAI for misconduct, examination malpractice, or moral turpitude are ineligible for admission.
Application Submission
Submit a complete application in response to the university/department’s official advertisement, using the prescribed form and attaching all required documents.
For International Students

Degree Awarding Criteria
Selection Criteria for MPhil Programs
The selection process for MPhil programs at IIMC evaluates candidates comprehensively, with a total score of 100 marks.
To secure admission, candidates must achieve at least 50% of the total score. The distribution of marks is as follows:
1. Entry Test Marks (75 Marks)
Candidates must appear for the entry test, which contributes 75% to the total score.
2. Academic Evaluation (5 Marks)
Academic achievements are assessed based on the following criteria:
- Final Professional Marks (Division): 1 mark for achieving a division in the final professional exam.
- Distinction in Final Professional: 1 mark for securing a distinction in the final professional exam.
- Previous Teaching Experience: 1 mark for verified teaching experience.
- Article Published: 1 mark for publication in a recognized journal.
- Workshop Attended: 1 mark for participation in relevant workshops.
3. Interview (20 Marks)
The interview evaluates candidates on:
- Turnout and Behavior: 1 mark.
- Communication Skills: 2 marks.
- Interview Performance: 17 marks.
4. Total Academic/Interview Marks (25 Marks)
The sum of Academic and Interview scores contributes 25% to the total score.
5. Final Score (100 Marks)
- The Entry Test Marks and Academic/Interview Marks are combined to determine the final score.
- A minimum of 50% (50 marks out of 100) is required for admission eligibility.
6. Application Process
- Applications must be submitted online.
- Upon submission, candidates will receive an application ID.
- Ensure all required documents (academic transcripts, certificates of teaching experience, published articles, and workshop certificates) are uploaded for verification.
