Program Description
Riphah International University offers a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD Computing) in Computing program designed to develop highly advanced research and professional competencies in the broad field of computing. This program aims to prepare scholars capable of contributing original knowledge and innovations in areas such as computer science, computer networks, distributed systems, software engineering, requirements engineering, information security, and software development.
The PhD program emphasizes rigorous research training, critical thinking, and scholarly inquiry, equipping students to address complex computing challenges through theoretical and applied research. Graduates will be well-prepared for leadership roles in academia, research institutions, and industry, where they can drive technological advancements and influence the future direction of computing disciplines.
Eligibility Criteria
PhD Computing
For Pakistani Nationals
- Min CGPA 3.0 or 70% marks in relevant discipline (relevancy shall be established by the Graduate Committee). The minimum requirement for admission to a PhD program shall be completion of the BS (or equivalent) degree having min of 16 years of education. Prior to entry into a PhD program, the student shall have been awarded his or her BS/MS/MPhil or equivalent degrees.
- However, GRE (International) test / NTS Subject for admission in PhD or equivalent test shall be developed by the department. The candidate is required to take at least 60% score in the test.
- As part of the application for admission to PhD programs, applicants shall be required to submit a statement of purpose, which shall form an integral part of the application. The admissions committee shall use the information provided to ascertain the preparedness and interest of the candidate in pursuing doctoral studies, and whether the department has the requisite resources to train and supervise the doctoral candidate in the subspecialty he or she is interested in.
