Program Description
The Master of Science in Information Security (MS-IS) program equips graduates with advanced skills in securing, managing, and assessing modern information systems and digital assets. The program focuses on critical areas such as cryptography, information privacy, network security, application security, digital forensics, and risk management, while emphasizing ethical responsibilities and professional standards in information assurance.
Designed to address the increasing global demand for qualified information security professionals, the program offers a balanced combination of rigorous technical coursework, specialized electives, and applied research. Students will gain in-depth expertise in identifying security threats, analyzing system vulnerabilities, and designing effective security solutions for diverse organizational contexts.
A strong emphasis is placed on research, ethical practices, and real-world problem-solving through a supervised research thesis or applied industry project. Graduates of the program will be prepared for leadership roles in cybersecurity management, secure software development, network defense, digital forensics, and security governance, as well as for doctoral studies and academic careers in the domain of information security.
Eligibility Criteria
MS Information Security (MSIS)
For Pakistani Nationals
- 16-years of education in computing/science/engineering discipline preferably with 4 years degree program of BS (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Applied Mathematics, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering) or equivalent from HEC recognized university or degree awarding institute.
- At least a CGPA of 2.0 on the scale of 4.0 or 60% marks in the previous degree.
- Two years of relevant work experience is recommended.
- Candidates may have to complete the deficiency coursework as determined by the admissions committee.

- Hostel charges of Rs. 216,000/semester for female and Rs. 180,000/semester for male boarders shall apply to above fee.

Merit / Selection Criteria
- Qualify GRE General type admission test conducted by the university or a valid NTS GRE General test
- Qualify the admission interview.
- Admission will depend on the candidate’s overall score in previous academic degree, admission test, and performance in the interview.
