Program Description
The Master of Science in Data Science (MS-DS) program equips graduates with advanced skills in managing, analyzing, and deriving actionable insights from complex and large-scale data. The program focuses on core areas such as data modeling, machine learning, big data analytics, deep learning, and data-driven decision-making, while integrating essential ethical, legal, and professional competencies.
Designed to meet the growing demand for data science professionals, the program offers a balanced combination of technical coursework, industry-relevant electives, and applied research. Students gain expertise in managing data-intensive systems, developing data-driven applications, and addressing contemporary challenges in fields such as business, healthcare, cybersecurity, and social media analytics.
A strong emphasis is placed on research, professional ethics, and real-world problem-solving through a supervised thesis or applied project. Graduates will be prepared for leadership roles in data science application development, business intelligence, data-driven strategy formulation, and academic or research-based careers.
Eligibility Criteria
MS Data Science (MSDS)
For Pakistani Nationals
- 16-years of education in computing/science/engineering discipline preferably with 4 years degree program of BS (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering) or equivalent from HEC recognized university or degree awarding institute.
- At least a CGPA of 2.0 on the scale of 4.0 or 60% marks in the previous degree.
- Two years of relevant work experience is recommended.
- Candidates may have to complete the deficiency coursework as determined by the admissions committee.
- List of possible deficiency courses is:
o Programming Fundamentals
o Data Structures and Algorithms / Design and Analysis of Algorithms
o Database Systems"

Merit / Selection Criteria
- Qualify GRE General type admission test conducted by the university or a valid NTS GRE General test.
- Qualify the admission interview.
- Admission will depend on the candidate’s overall score in previous academic degree, admission test, and performance in the interview.
