Program Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of the program, the learners will be able to:
- Demonstrate foundational and applied knowledge of common geriatric diseases and outline appropriate caregiving strategies.
- Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to perform basic emergency and first aid interventions for acute health events.
- Communicate effectively in professional and community contexts using appropriate academic and interpersonal skills.
- Exhibit professionalism, self-care, and ethical conduct in caregiving settings.
- Engage in reflective practice and self-directed learning to support ongoing professional and personal development.
- Reflect on personal values, self-care, and ethical conduct to foster a compassionate, professional identity centered on service to humanity and devotion to Allah.
- Apply physiotherapy and exercise techniques to enhance mobility and prevent falls.
- Demonstrate practical elderly care procedures including hygiene, toileting, bed-making, and pressure sore prevention, while communicating empathetically and effectively.
- Implement infection control protocols in line with caregiving best practices.
- Recognize and respond to the social, emotional, and spiritual needs of the elderly.
