Program Description
The Diploma in Medical Jurisprudence (DMJ) is a two-year, in-person postgraduate program designed to produce competent medico-legal officers and forensic medicine specialists. The program provides a comprehensive blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, covering areas such as forensic pathology, toxicology, forensic biochemistry, professional ethics, and legal frameworks relevant to medical practice in Pakistan.
Delivered through lectures, seminars, skill-based labs, and hands-on medico-legal training at DHQ Hospital Rawalpindi and PIMS Islamabad, the program equips graduates with the ability to conduct autopsies, prepare medico-legal reports, and interpret forensic evidence with professional accuracy. The program also incorporates training in biostatistics, research methodology, and medical education.
