Program Description
Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)
The learners will be able to:
- Acquire the multidisciplinary knowledge of developmental stages of the Life of an Ideal Muslim Family (such as psychological, social, legal, and medical)
- Identify the factors of disorientation in Muslim families, and analyze their causes,
- Ascertain the possible solutions to cultivate the required attitude or behavior in oneself and family members
- Establish a Family Counseling Center in their community.
- Demonstrate courage and empathy while dealing with affecting own family and community at large.
- Commit to lifelong personal and family development
- Recognize, address, and resolve the ethical issues involved in providing counseling services to the community
- Observe the individual behavior to identify the improvement needed areas
- Reflect the observations, analysis and/ or synergize the issues for solutions in the form of writings
- Perform the appropriate counseling techniques and skills to identify the improvement needed areas in an individual’s behavior
- Demonstrate the techniques and methods of Family Counseling as per the need of the community.
Modules and Syllabus: The course is designed in progression, i.e., Certificate Course leading to Advanced Diploma, hence the distribution of the course will be as follows:
Certificate Course - Family in 21st Century:
- Module I: Study of Ideal Family Life (3 Credit Hours)
- Module II: Family Counselling [I] (3 Credit Hours)
- Module III: Awareness of Gender and Relations (3 Credit Hours)
Advanced Diploma Course - Family in 21st Century:
- Module IV: Parenting (3 Credit Hours)
- Module V: Family Institution_ 21st Century National and International Challenges (3 Credit Hours)
- Module VI: Family Counselling [II] (3 Credit Hours)

- Diploma Course: Completion of Certificate Course, FA/FSC or equivalent education
