Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security (BSCY) program is designed to equip students with the essential knowledge, technical skills, and professional values required to excel in the dynamic and increasingly critical field of cyber security. This program provides a balanced blend of theoretical foundations and practical competencies, enabling graduates to address modern security challenges in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The BSCY curriculum covers core areas such as information security, network security, digital forensics, secure software development, information assurance, and ethical hacking. It also emphasizes essential computing disciplines including programming, data structures, operating systems, computer networks, and database systems, providing a well-rounded computing background. In alignment with the growing complexity of cyber threats, students are introduced to emerging fields like malware analysis, penetration testing, IoT security, cloud security, and cyber law.

Incorporating modern computing tools, techniques, and methodologies, the program ensures that graduates are proficient in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating security risks, while designing and implementing robust security solutions. It places a strong emphasis on professional ethics and Islamic values, encouraging graduates to responsibly apply their expertise within local and global professional contexts.

Throughout the program, students engage in hands-on projects, lab-based coursework, and a comprehensive Final Year Project, developing skills in critical thinking, teamwork, effective communication, and leadership. The curriculum is structured to support life-long learning and continuous professional development, preparing graduates for successful careers as cyber security analysts, security engineers, digital forensic experts, penetration testers, and information assurance professionals, or to pursue advanced studies in specialized areas of cyber security.

By integrating rigorous academic instruction with applied learning and ethical guidance, the BS Cyber Security program aims to produce security professionals capable of contributing to national resilience, organizational security infrastructure, and the broader socio-economic development of the community.
