Program Description
Diagnostic Ultrasound Course is a postgraduate certificate course in the field of Sonology. Its scope is quite vast, after completing this course, the candidates can pursue further studies such as MS in Sonology which will provide them with more in-depth knowledge and better job opportunities.
A Sonologist (ultrasound specialist) is a healthcare professional who uses ultrasound technology to diagnose and treat patients. In terms of job opportunities, there are a variety of options for ultrasound specialists in Pakistan and abroad. Some may work in government hospitals, while others may work in private hospitals or clinics. Additionally, ultrasound specialists may also have the opportunity to work in research and education.

- MBBS, MD or any equivalent degree in Medicine Bachelor in Radiology Technology (RT) Bachelor in Medical Imaging Technology (BMIT) Bachelor or Doctor in Physiotherapy
- Master of Science (MS) in Physical Therapy
- Bachelor of Respiratory Therapy, or Occupational Therapy Bachelor in Nuclear Medicine Bachelor of Nursing and/or Midwifery
- Bachelor of Eastern Medicine
- Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine
- Master of Science (MSc) in Physics, or Chemistry or Biology or Physiology

Degree Awarding Criteria
Certificate Awarding Criteria
- Formative exams (40%) are taken after each module.
- Final exam (40%) is held at the end of the course.
- Assignments (10%) are completed during online sessions.
- Case study (10%) is done at the end of the course.
Academic Performance
- A minimum of 80% attendance in all coursework, seminars, and workshops is mandatory.
- Students must successfully complete all required coursework with a minimum Cumulative Grade.
Professional Behavior and Conduct
- Students must demonstrate professionalism, ethical behavior, and adherence to the institution’s code of conduct throughout the program.
- Participation in mandatory seminars, workshops, or conferences organized by the institution is required.
Clearance and Approvals
- Clearance from all institutional departments, including the library, finance, and administration.
- Approval of the final dissertation by the academic/research committee and the relevant regulatory bodies.
