Program Description
The PhD English Linguistics program provides an opportunity for doctoral students to gain advanced expertise in the theoretical and scientific study of language. The program encompasses diverse research areas, including Applied Linguistics, Translation Studies, Forensic Linguistics, Neurolinguistics, and Second Language Acquisition. Eligibility Criteria
Doctor of Philosophy in English Linguistics (PhD English)
For Pakistani Nationals
- MS or MPhil in the relevant domain. A minimum requirement of CGPA is 3.0/4.0 in the semester system and 60% marks in the annual system.
- GAT Subject (National Testing Service) 70% or/and UGAT Subject (University Graduate Admission Test) 70%
- Interview 30%

Merit / Selection Criteria
The top 15 candidates who score 70% and above in test and interview are offered admission.
Degree Awarding Criteria
For the award of PhD English Linguistics degree, students will need to complete 20 credit hours of course work along with a minimum of 30 credit hours of thesis with less than 19% similarity index in their research work and CGPA 3.0 and above.
