Program Description
The MPhil in English provides two advanced specializations: English Linguistics and English Literature. The program consists of 32 credit hours, comprising core courses, electives, and a 6-credit research thesis, with an option to replace the thesis with two additional elective courses as per HEC guidelines. Students are engaged with theoretical and empirical complexities in language, literature, and teaching to advance their critical thinking and research skills. They are prepared for careers in academia, research, publishing, and related fields, with a focus on diverse cultural, educational, and social contexts.

For Pakistani Nationals
- MA/BS (Hons.)/Equivalent degree in English Language/Literature/TEFL/ELT or related discipline from an HEC-recognized university with at least a second division or CGPA of 2.00 as per the criteria of the University.

Degree Awarding Criteria
For the award of an MPhil English (Literature) degree, students will either need to complete 32 credit hours of coursework or complete 26 credit hours of coursework along with a minimum of 6 credit hours of thesis with less than 19% similarity index in their research work and CGPA 2.5 and above.
