Program Description
This is an excellent opportunity for medical graduates who would like to pursue careers in surgery and allied disciplines nationally and internationally, to get them well versed in the art and craft of research. It will be an additional qualification and experience which will go a long way in getting training positions in General Surgery and Allied Specialties. It will help surgical trainees at the local level to complete their research effectively during the surgical trainee programs in Pakistan. It is expected that it will also provide them with an edge in securing positions abroad.
The purpose of the Department of Surgery’s research training program is to foster academic research in general surgery. This goal is accomplished by having carefully selected mentees working in a stimulating environment with a committed faculty that has broad expertise in research. The program provides the fundamentals of research through weekly research discussion, opportunities for collaboration with medical and surgical faculty, and training in grant writing to enable graduates the opportunity to participate in general based research during their careers.

MBBS graduates who have completed their house job.
For International Students
MBBS graduates who have completed their house job.

Academic Performance
- A minimum of 80% attendance in all coursework, seminars, and workshops is mandatory.
- Students must successfully complete all required coursework with a minimum Cumulative Grade.
Professional Behavior and Conduct
- Students must demonstrate professionalism, ethical behavior, and adherence to the institution’s code of conduct throughout the program.
- Participation in mandatory seminars, workshops, or conferences organized by the institution is required.
Clearance and Approvals
- Clearance from all institutional departments, including the library, finance, and administration.
- Approval of the final dissertation by the academic/research committee and the relevant regulatory bodies.
