Two-Day Workshop on Audio and Sound Storytelling Concludes at Riphah International University

The Riphah Institute of Media Sciences (RIMS), in collaboration with Radio Pakistan, successfully concluded a two-day workshop on Audio and Sound Storytelling at Riphah International University, I-14 Campus. The workshop aimed to equip students with practical skills and contemporary techniques for storytelling across mobile and social media platforms.
Day 1: Audio and Sound Storytelling for Digital Media
The first day of the workshop focused on “Audio and Sound Storytelling for Mobile and Social Media”, offering students hands-on exposure to modern audio content creation. The session was led by Mr. Muhammad Karim Ahmed, Program Manager at Radio Pakistan Lahore, who shared his extensive industry experience and practical insights into audio production, narrative structure, and audience engagement in the digital era.
The opening session was honored by the presence of the Vice Chancellor, Riphah International University, Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmed, who appreciated the collaborative initiative between Riphah Institute of Media Sciences and Radio Pakistan Rawalpindi, highlighting the importance of industry-academia linkages in media education.
Notably, students from four different universities participated in the workshop, creating a diverse learning environment that encouraged collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional networking.
Day 2: Big Screen Storytelling for Mobile and Social Media
The second day of the workshop, titled “Big Screen Storytelling for Mobile and Social Media”, further expanded students’ understanding of visual storytelling and content adaptation for digital platforms. The session featured Dr. Farhan Mushtaq, Senior Producer at Pakistan Television (PTV), Lahore, who conducted an engaging and interactive session.
Dr. Farhan Mushtaq shared his vast professional experience, focusing on modern storytelling techniques, content creation for digital audiences, and the transition of big-screen narratives to mobile and social media formats. Students actively participated in discussions, posed insightful questions, and gained practical knowledge relevant to contemporary media practices.
The workshop concluded on an inspiring note, reinforcing Riphah International University’s commitment to providing industry-oriented learning opportunities that prepare aspiring media professionals for the evolving demands of the media and communication landscape.
