Riphah Hosts International Conference on Recent Advances in Computing, AI and Data Science (CAIDS 2025)

Islamabad — The Faculty of Computing (FC), Riphah International University, successfully hosted the 3rd International Conference on Recent Advances in Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science (CAIDS 2025). The conference was jointly organized by Riphah International University, Islamabad; University of Science and Technology (UST), Bannu; University of Lakki Marwat; Multimedia University (MMU), Cyberjaya, Malaysia; Kalam Bibi International Women Institute, Bannu; and Gomal University, D.I. Khan.
CAIDS 2025 served as a premier international platform for researchers, academicians, industry professionals, and policymakers to exchange knowledge, present innovative research, and discuss emerging trends in computing, artificial intelligence, and data science.
The conference commenced with a distinguished opening session, reflecting strong national and international collaboration in higher education and research.
The session began with a welcome note by the Chief Organizer, Prof. Dr. Aurangzab Khan, Vice Chancellor, University of Lakki Marwat. This was followed by a welcome address by the Vice Chancellor, Riphah International University, Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmed, who emphasized RIU’s commitment to research excellence, innovation, and global academic partnerships.
Senior academic and government leadership graced the session, including:
- Prof. Dr. Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan, Vice Chancellor, UST Bannu
- Prof. Dato’ Mazliham Bin Mohd. Su’ud, President, Multimedia University, Malaysia (Guest of Honor)
- Dr. Muhammad Israr, Secretary, Higher Education Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Chief Guest)
- Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq, Executive Director, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan (Chief Guest)
- Dr. Najeeb Ullah Marwat, Member, Planning Commission for Science and Technology
Their addresses highlighted the strategic importance of AI, data-driven innovation, and international academic collaboration for national development.
A keynote address titled “Edge-Enabled AI Auscultation for Reliable Pre-Hospital Diagnosis” was delivered by Prof. Dr. R. Kanesaraj Ramasamy, focusing on cutting-edge AI applications in healthcare and pre-hospital diagnostics.
The conference also featured prominent invited talks, including:
- Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tariq, who delivered a keynote on “From Black Box to Glass Box: The Rise of Interpretable Artificial Intelligence Models in Critical Infrastructure”, emphasizing explainability and trust in AI systems.
- Dr. Umar Farooq (Heriot-Watt University, Scotland), who presented “Re-Imaging Experiments: User-Centered Design in the Age of Generative AI”, highlighting the role of human-centered approaches in modern AI research.
CAIDS 2025 reinforced Riphah International University’s leadership role in fostering interdisciplinary research, promoting innovation in AI and data science, and strengthening collaboration between national and international academic institutions. The conference provided a valuable forum for advancing scholarly discourse and aligning research with real-world challenges.
