Faculty of Computing Engages Ulster University to Explore Academic Collaboration

Riphah International University held a productive meeting with a delegation from Ulster University on 13 December at Serena Hotel, Islamabad, marking a positive step toward strengthening international academic collaboration. The Ulster University delegation was led by Professor Christopher Nugent, Head of the School of Computing, and the meeting was facilitated by Dr. Mushtaq Ali, Head of Department, Faculty of Computing (Malakand Campus).
Riphah International University was represented by Prof. Dr. Mansoor Alam, Dr. Mushtaq Ali, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zubair, Dean, Faculty of Computing. The University’s International Office also participated, represented by Mr. Mohsin Naveed, Manager International Office, reflecting Riphah’s structured approach to internationalization.
The discussion focused on exploring multiple avenues of collaboration, including student exchange programs, joint research initiatives, and faculty exchange opportunities. Both institutions mutually agreed to initiate collaboration through student exchange programs as the first phase of partnership.
As an initial step, Prof. Dr. Mansoor Alam, focal person for internationalization at Riphah International University, will work closely with Dr. Rashid Kamal from Ulster University on course mapping and academic alignment. This collaboration is expected to establish a strong foundation for future joint research activities and faculty engagement.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, reflecting a shared commitment to building sustainable global partnerships that enhance academic quality, international exposure, and collaborative research opportunities for students and faculty at both institutions.
