Wednesday, 26th November 2025
Riphah International University, through its Tarbiyah Resource Center (TRC), organized a two-part leadership development program titled “Foundations of Strategic Thinking in Islam” on 26 November 2025 at the Gulberg Campus, Lahore. Facilitated by Shaykh Dr. Haitham al-Haddad, the initiative advanced the University’s mission of cultivating value-driven leadership rooted in Islamic principles. The program emphasized developing hikmah (wisdom), foresight, and long-term strategic vision guided by Qur’anic teachings and the Prophetic model of decision-making.
The training was structured in two phases to engage leaders across different levels of the institution.
In the first phase, conducted in collaboration with the Higher Education Division (HDS) and the Learning & Development Department, Directors, Deans, and Heads of Departments received executive-level training. This session reinforced institutional alignment and highlighted the importance of integrating Islamic strategic thinking into organizational and academic leadership practices across the University.
The second phase focused on Tarbiyah Managers and Riphah Academic System (RAS) representatives. Participants explored how Islamic strategic foresight can be implemented within departmental planning, mentoring frameworks, and student-level Tarbiyah initiatives. The session equipped attendees with practical tools to embed Islamic values in everyday leadership and operational decision-making.
Key outcomes included strengthening a hikmah-based leadership approach aligned with Qur’an and Sunnah, gaining clarity on differences between Islamic and Western leadership paradigms, and enhancing long-term, akhirah-centered decision-making processes. Participants also learned to apply Prophetic strategy to organizational, community, and Ummah-level challenges.
The program was well-received, generating meaningful engagement and reflection among all attendees. It strongly aligned with Riphah’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values—particularly its commitment to Islamic ethical leadership, character development, and the effective implementation of the RAS model.
Riphah International University remains dedicated to offering leadership development initiatives that shape principled, competent, and visionary leaders across the institution.
