Riphah International University Celebrates Iqbal Day with Knowledge Expo and Literary Events

Riphah International University's Information Services Department (ISD) successfully celebrated the birth anniversary of the national poet and philosopher, Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, with a series of vibrant literary events and a university-wide Knowledge Expo. The celebrations took place across the Al-Mizan, Gulberg Greens, Lahore Raiwind, and I-14 campuses from November 10 to 12, 2025.
The core message of the celebrations was to highlight Iqbal’s timeless philosophy of self-realization, faith, and service to humanity , encouraging students and faculty to engage deeply with his profound legacy.
Highlights from Across the Campuses:
I-14 Campus: Knowledge Expo
- ISD organized a two-day Knowledge Expo on November 11-12.
- The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, Riphah International University, along with the Director Information Services.
- In his address, Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmad emphasized that "Iqbal's thought is a guiding light for our youth, reminding them that true success lies in character, knowledge, and service to humanity".
- The expo featured national publishers, the Riphah Iqbal Society, and booksellers, offering a rich collection on Iqbal's poetic vision, Islamic thought, and the philosophy of Khudi.
Al-Mizan Campus: Three-Day Book Exhibition
- A three-day Book Exhibition on Iqbaliyat was inaugurated by Prof. Waqar Ahmad Awan, Principal, Riphah College of Rehabilitation Sciences.
- The exhibition showcased literature on Iqbal's poetry, philosophy, and biography, including special segments like "Iqbal and Hub-e-Rasool," "Iqbal's Sermons," and "Iqbal and Sufism".
Gulberg Greens Campus: Special Book Display
- The campus held a dedicated Iqbal Day Book Display on November 10.
- The display, set up both departmentally and during the university ceremony, successfully promoted a deeper exploration of Iqbal's intellectual relevance in modern times.
Lahore Raiwind Campus: Literary Activities
- The Lahore Raiwind Campus hosted a range of literary activities alongside exhibitions.
- Events included poetry recitals, presentations on Shikwa-Jawab-e-Shikwa, and an inter-campus poetry competition between RIPS and RSCI students.
- The celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony.
The successful celebrations were widely praised, achieving their goal of reviving the spirit of Iqbal's teachings and encouraging students to pursue self-awareness, purposeful living, and intellectual growth.
