Riphah International University Celebrates World Mental Health Day 2025 at Department of Psychology

The Department of Psychology, Riphah International University (GGC, Islamabad), successfully celebrated World Mental Health Day 2025 under the visionary guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmed and the leadership of Dr. Mifrah Rauf Sethi, Head of the Department of Psychology.
The event featured a dynamic blend of interactive sessions, expert talks, panel discussions, and student-led activities, all focused on promoting mental health awareness, resilience, and emotional well-being. Distinguished professionals from the fields of psychology, psychiatry, and education joined as honored guests, sharing valuable insights on empathy, mental well-being, and the importance of supportive communities.
A thought-provoking panel discussion created a valuable platform for exchanging perspectives on mental health challenges in academic and social settings. Students further enriched the event through creative role plays, art displays, and other expressive activities showcasing their understanding of mental wellness.
Adding to the impact, a welfare stall, Bano Qabil by Alkhidmat Foundation, promoted community care and highlighted the significance of mental health support services.
The Vice Chancellor and Guest Speaker Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Burni appreciated the students’ efforts and commended the Department of Psychology for its dedication to mental health advocacy and humanitarian service.
As part of the ceremony, shields and certificates were presented to esteemed guests, panelists, and organizers in recognition of their valuable contributions. The event concluded with closing remarks from Campus Director Dr. Sarwat Jamila, reaffirming the university’s ongoing commitment to fostering mental health awareness across all campuses.
