Riphah Hosts 4th International Conference on Recent Innovations in Pharmaceutical Sciences (ICRIPS 2025)

The 4th International Conference on Recent Innovations in Pharmaceutical Sciences (ICRIPS 2025), themed “Use of Technology (AI) in Drug Discovery and Development,” was successfully organized by the Riphah Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (RIPS) on November 5–6, 2025, at the Best Western, Islamabad.
The two-day international event brought together academicians, researchers, healthcare professionals, and industry experts from Pakistan and abroad to explore how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies are transforming drug discovery, development, and patient care.
The inaugural session featured welcome addresses by Prof. Dr. Arifullah Khan, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Dr. Umair Ilyas, Director, RIPS. Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, and Mr. Asadullah Khan, Executive Director, Riphah International University, also addressed the audience.
Distinguished guests included Dr. Obaidullah, CEO, Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), as Chief Guest, and Dr. Sardar Shabir Ahmad, Vice President, Pakistan Pharmacy Council, as Guest of Honor.
Keynote lectures were delivered by Prof. Dr. Jamshad Anwar (Lancaster University, UK) and Prof. Dr. Anwar-ul-Hassan Gilani (HEC Pakistan). Over two days, participants attended scientific sessions, poster presentations, and workshops, covering topics such as AI in healthcare, nanomedicine, predictive modeling, and pharmaceutical education.
A panel discussion on “Artificial Intelligence in Pharmacy and Healthcare: Opportunities and Challenges” brought together experts to share insights on the evolving role of technology in pharmacy practice.
ICRIPS 2025 successfully promoted research excellence, collaboration, and innovation in pharmaceutical sciences. The conference reaffirmed Riphah’s mission to integrate technology, ethics, and innovation to advance healthcare and education in Pakistan.
