Riphah Strengthens Academic and Clinical Collaboration with IIUM in Speech and Language Pathology

The Department of Speech and Language Pathology (SLP) at Riphah International University is pleased to announce a successful collaborative academic visit by Prof. Dr. Humaira Shamim Kiayni, Head of Department, to the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
The visit served as an excellent platform for academic exchange and institutional collaboration, fostering dialogue between faculty members of both universities on advancing education, clinical practice, and research in the field of Speech and Language Pathology.
During the visit, representatives from both universities presented their respective institutional strengths, clinical facilities, and ongoing research initiatives through interactive discussions and presentations.
IIUM’s Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, which offers BS, MS, and PhD programs, shared insights into its comprehensive approach to education, clinical training, and research—reflecting its strong commitment to developing future-ready clinicians and researchers.
The meetings focused on exploring student exchange programs, clinical placements, and collaborative research projects, all aimed at fostering mutual academic enrichment and creating new opportunities for cross-institutional learning and innovation.
As part of the visit, Prof. Dr. Humaira Shamim Kiayni toured three clinical sites at IIUM, where meaningful interactions with faculty members and students provided valuable insights into IIUM’s clinical education model and service delivery framework.
These visits reinforced the potential for joint initiatives in clinical training and supervision, paving the way for sustained collaboration between the two institutions.
The Department extends sincere appreciation to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sarah Binti Rahmat, Head, Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Aidil Arafat bin Dzulkarnain, Dean, Kulliyyah of Allied Health Sciences, and Dr. Nur Hanisah Tukiran for their warm hospitality and constructive engagement throughout the visit.
