Dr. Seema Shafiq, alumna and current Head of the Department of Oral Pathology at the Islamic International Dental College & Hospital (IIDC), Riphah International University, represented the institution at the 1st SOD SZABMU International Dental Conference 2026 and 9th Annual Conference of the Pakistan Association for Dental Research (PADR), IADR Pakistan Section.

As part of the conference's academic programme, Dr. Seema Shafiq delivered an insightful session titled “Microscopic Mysteries: Decoding Head and Neck Lesions.” The presentation featured selected challenging cases from the Head and Neck Diagnostic Histopathology Services of the Department of Oral Pathology, highlighting the complexity of diagnosing lesions involving the head and neck region.

Her presentation emphasized the critical role of clinicopathological correlation in reaching accurate diagnoses. By bringing together clinical findings, histopathological features, and relevant diagnostic considerations, the session demonstrated how a comprehensive approach can contribute to more effective patient management.
