Dental Education Department Explores AI-Assisted Gamified Case-Based Learning
Thursday, 13th August 2026
The Dental Education Department of the Islamic International Dental College (IIDC), Riphah International University, organized an engaging one-hour orientation session on AI-Assisted Gamified Case-Based Learning (CBL) for faculty on 13 August.
The session was arranged by Dr. Sana Iqbal and expertly facilitated by Dr. Serha Arshad, Demonstrator, Basic Dental Sciences. The orientation provided faculty members with an opportunity to explore innovative approaches to integrating artificial intelligence, gamification, and case-based learning into dental education.
During the interactive session, participants examined how AI can support the transformation of traditional case-based learning into a more engaging, interactive, and learner-centered educational experience. The discussion highlighted the potential of technology to encourage active participation, enhance clinical reasoning, and create meaningful learning experiences for students.
The session also provided an opportunity for faculty to reflect on the evolving role of educators in an increasingly technology-enabled academic environment. Rather than focusing solely on the delivery of knowledge, the discussion emphasized the importance of designing learning experiences that promote engagement, critical thinking, and deeper understanding.
The orientation reflects Riphah International University's commitment to fostering innovation in education and encouraging faculty to adopt technology in purposeful ways that enhance teaching and learning.
