Faculty of Management Sciences Organizes Three-Day Faculty Development Program at Al-Mizan Campus

The Faculty of Management Sciences (FMS), Riphah School of Leadership (RSL), successfully organized a three-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) from 10 to 12 August 2026 at Sanaullah Hall, Al-Mizan Campus. The program was designed to enhance faculty members' professional capabilities, promote reflective learning, strengthen research practices, and develop competencies in contemporary educational approaches.
The three-day program featured a diverse range of interactive and hands-on sessions covering key areas of academic and professional development, including Teachers and Iqbal, Self-Branding for Educators, the Riphah Aspired Students (RAS) Model, self-awareness, research excellence, publication in high-impact journals, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), assessment, harassment awareness for educators, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for educators.
Day 1: Professional Identity, Values and Institutional Initiatives
The first day, held on 10 August 2026, focused on professional identity, values, and institutional educational initiatives. Dr. Khurram Ellahi delivered a session titled “Teachers and Iqbal,” highlighting the relationship between education, professional responsibility, and the intellectual legacy of Allama Iqbal.
This was followed by “Self-Branding for Educators,” facilitated by Prof. Dr. Khurram Shahzad and Dr. Syed Danial Hashmi, which focused on developing a strong professional identity and effectively communicating academic expertise.
The day concluded with a hands-on training session on the Riphah Aspired Students (RAS) Model, conducted by Dr. Hafiz Waqas Khan, providing faculty members with practical understanding of an important institutional educational initiative.
Day 2: Self-Awareness and Research Excellence
The second day, held on 11 August 2026, focused on self-awareness, personal development, and research excellence. Dr. Semra Salik conducted sessions titled “The Self You Don't Know” and “Discovering the Hidden Influences Behind How You Can Think, Feel, and Teach.” The sessions encouraged participants to reflect on personal and psychological factors that influence their thinking, emotions, teaching practices, and interactions with students.
The day's program concluded with “How to Publish in High IF Journals,” delivered by Prof. Dr. Shazia Nauman. The session provided valuable insights into effective research publication practices and strategies for strengthening the quality and impact of scholarly work.
Day 3: OBE, Harassment Awareness and Artificial Intelligence
The third day, held on 12 August 2026, featured practical sessions on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), harassment awareness, and Artificial Intelligence.
Dr. Ambreen Haqadad and Dr. Sadia Mazhar conducted hands-on training on OBE, focusing on contemporary approaches to curriculum delivery and assessment. The program continued with “Understanding the Meaning of Harassment for Educators,” facilitated by Prof. Dr. Khurram Shahzad and Dr. Syed Danial Hashmi, addressing awareness and professional responsibility within educational environments.
The program concluded with a session titled “AI for Educators,” delivered by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sarmad and Mr. Aamer Shareef. The session explored the potential applications of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning and highlighted the growing importance of emerging technologies in contemporary education.
The FDP also provided an opportunity for faculty members from the Lahore and Malakand campuses to participate, fostering cross-campus interaction, professional networking, and knowledge sharing among academic colleagues.
The three-day program served as a valuable platform for professional development, research enhancement, collaborative learning, and the exchange of academic practices. The initiative reinforced the Faculty of Management Sciences' commitment to continuous faculty development, innovative teaching, research excellence, and the effective integration of emerging educational technologies.
Through initiatives such as this Faculty Development Program, Riphah International University continues to strengthen its academic community and empower faculty members with the knowledge, skills, and contemporary approaches needed to contribute meaningfully to excellence in higher education.
