The Faculty of Computing at Riphah International University successfully organized a two-day faculty development workshop titled "Reimagining Education in the Age of AI" for its academic staff at the I-14 and Gulberg Green campuses in Islamabad. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Naveed Ikram, Professor, Faculty of Computing, and focused on exploring how artificial intelligence is transforming teaching, learning, and assessment in higher education.

The workshop encouraged faculty members to rethink conventional educational practices and embrace a new learning ecosystem centered on the collaborative relationship between the teacher, learner, and AI as a cognitive partner. Participants explored how AI can move beyond being a simple technological tool to becoming an intelligent partner that enhances critical thinking, creativity, and lifelong learning.

During the sessions, faculty members discussed how AI is reshaping teaching methodologies by shifting the role of educators from content delivery to facilitating critical evaluation, metacognition, and higher-order problem-solving. The workshop also highlighted the potential of AI to personalize learning experiences through interactive feedback and adaptive learning pathways, enabling students to become more active and independent learners.

Another key area of discussion focused on the future of assessment in higher education. Participants examined how AI can support authentic, process-oriented assessments that evaluate students' depth of understanding, adaptability, and real-world problem-solving abilities rather than relying solely on traditional memorization-based examinations.

The workshop provided an engaging platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and thoughtful discussion on the opportunities and challenges associated with integrating artificial intelligence into academic environments. Faculty members actively participated in interactive sessions, contributing valuable perspectives on the future of AI-enabled education.
