Thursday, 16th July 2026
Islamabad, July 16, 2026 — The Department of Digital Learning (DDL), Riphah International University, successfully organized the "Digital Learning @ Riphah Retrospective & Strategic Planning Workshop", bringing together In-Charges Digital Learning and faculty representatives from participating faculties and academic units across the University.
The workshop served as an important milestone in Riphah's Digital Learning journey, providing a collaborative platform to reflect on the progress made during the Spring 2026 semester, exchange experiences, identify implementation challenges, and define strategic priorities for the upcoming academic year.
The session commenced with a comprehensive review of the University's Digital Learning progress, highlighting the significant achievements accomplished since the launch of the initiative. Participants were informed that all participating faculties and academic units have now successfully authored and launched at least one digital course using the University's Curated Content model—an important institutional milestone demonstrating university-wide participation in Digital Learning.
The workshop also showcased the overall growth of the Digital Learning ecosystem, including continued expansion in digital course offerings, increasing student engagement, growing faculty participation, and wider adoption of Digital Content Integration within classroom teaching.
An interactive discussion followed, during which participants shared their experiences, success stories, and practical challenges encountered while implementing Digital Learning within their respective faculties. The open dialogue provided valuable insights into faculty engagement, classroom integration practices, student participation, and institutional support requirements. These discussions will help the Department further strengthen its implementation strategy and enhance the support provided to faculties.
Participants also visited the Department of Digital Learning facilities, where they were introduced to the University's digital learning infrastructure, course development environment, and ongoing initiatives supporting digital education across Riphah.
The workshop further introduced the University's next strategic priorities for Digital Learning. Building upon the successful adoption of curated digital courses, the Department outlined plans to encourage the development of Original Digital Courses that incorporate institution-specific knowledge, original instructional design, clinical and laboratory demonstrations, local case studies, and content aligned with accredited academic and professional frameworks.
In addition, participants were briefed on two major strategic initiatives that will define the next phase of Digital Learning at Riphah:
- RIPHAHx, the University's public-facing digital learning platform, which will offer professional development, executive education, industry-focused training, and lifelong learning opportunities for external and internal learners.
- Digital Trainings, a dedicated institutional learning platform that will support capacity building and professional development for University management, administrative departments, and non-teaching academic units through high-quality digital training programs.
The workshop concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening collaboration between the Department of Digital Learning and faculty-based Digital Learning Committees to further embed digital learning within academic practice and enhance student learning experiences across the University.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Saud Khan, Director, Department of Digital Learning, appreciated the commitment demonstrated by faculty representatives and emphasized that the successful onboarding of all participating faculties marks the completion of an important first phase of the University's Digital Learning strategy.
The Department of Digital Learning intends to organize similar collaborative workshops on a regular basis to promote knowledge sharing, strengthen institutional coordination, and support the continuous advancement of Digital Learning across Riphah International University.
