Riphah School of Leadership Hosts Webinar on AI and Traditional Epidemiology

The Riphah School of Leadership (RSL), Faculty of Management Sciences (FMS), Al-Mizan Campus, organized an insightful webinar titled “AI vs. Traditional Epidemiology: Opportunities and Risks” on 8 June 2026. The session was delivered by Ms. Dina Wanna, offering students and faculty valuable insights into the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in epidemiological research and public health.
The webinar explored how artificial intelligence is transforming the field of epidemiology by enhancing disease surveillance, data analysis, predictive modeling, and evidence-based decision-making. Ms. Wanna compared AI-driven methodologies with traditional epidemiological approaches, highlighting both the advantages of emerging technologies and the continued importance of established scientific practices in public health research.
Through practical examples and expert perspectives, participants gained a deeper understanding of the opportunities AI presents in improving healthcare outcomes, as well as the potential risks associated with its implementation.
