Riphah International University Expands Global Academic Horizons Through Strategic Partnership with Tongwon University, South Korea

Islamabad — Demonstrating its continued commitment to internationalization and global academic engagement, Riphah International University played a leading role in advancing student mobility and cross-border collaboration during the Korea-Pakistan Education Corridor event held on 8 June 2026 at the Ramada Hotel, Club Road, Islamabad.
Organized by the Consortium for Asia-Pacific & Eurasian Studies (CAPES), the event brought together leading educational institutions from Pakistan and South Korea to foster strategic partnerships and strengthen international academic cooperation. The expo served as a platform for historic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between top-tier South Korean institutions and premier Pakistani universities, creating new opportunities for academic exchange, collaborative research, and global learning.
The event was graced by the Federal Minister for Education, Mr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, who appreciated this significant milestone in promoting internationalization within Pakistan’s higher education sector.
Representing Riphah International University, a distinguished delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, accompanied by Mr. Nauman Mansoor, Head of Riphah International Office (RIO), and Prof. Dr. Mustafeez Babar, Director ORIC. Their participation underscored Riphah’s strategic vision of expanding global partnerships and creating meaningful international opportunities for students and faculty.
Building on the momentum generated at the event, the Riphah International Office (RIO), in collaboration with the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), hosted representatives from CAPES and Tongwon University, South Korea, at Riphah’s Gulberg Green Campus on 9 June 2026.
A key highlight of the visit was the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Riphah International University and Tongwon University on 9 June 2026. The agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmad, Vice Chancellor of Riphah International University, and Professor Jong In Choi, Acting President of Tongwon University.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Raza Khan, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Management), and Mr. Yahya Khan, Manager Strategy & International Business Development, reflecting the collective commitment of both institutions toward fostering international academic collaboration.
This strategic partnership is expected to create new avenues for student and faculty exchange programs, joint research initiatives, academic cooperation, and intercultural engagement. Through such collaborations, Riphah continues to strengthen its international footprint and provide its academic community with access to diverse global learning experiences.
