he Department of Speech & Language Pathology at Riphah International University proudly announces significant academic and professional achievements that further strengthen its leadership role in the field of Speech & Language Pathology (SLP) in Pakistan.
In a landmark development, Riphah International University has officially received the No Objection Certificate (NOC) to launch the PhD in Speech & Language Pathology, making it the first and only PhD program in Pakistan with this nomenclature. This historic achievement reflects the University’s continued commitment to academic excellence, advanced research, and professional development within the field of Speech & Language Pathology.
Building upon its pioneering contribution through the successful introduction of the MS Speech & Language Pathology program, the department continues its legacy of innovation by now offering the highest academic qualification in the discipline. The launch of the PhD program marks a major step toward strengthening specialized research, clinical expertise, and scholarly advancement in Speech & Language Pathology nationwide.
The department is also pleased to share another notable achievement as Prof. Dr. Humaira Shamim Kiyani, Head of the Department, has been selected as a member of the Higher Education Commission’s Journals Review Committee for Medical & Health Sciences and as a research expert under the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Research and Innovation Cell.
The committee is responsible for the accreditation, upgradation, and recognition of research journals, as well as contributing to research innovation policies and academic standards across Pakistan. This prestigious appointment reflects the department’s growing academic influence and reinforces its role in advancing Speech & Language Pathology education, research, and professional standards at the national level.
