Open Source Day at Riphah International University Highlights Emerging Technologies and Industry Trends

The Faculty of Computing at Riphah International University, Gulberg Greens Campus (GGC), successfully organized Open Source Day on 29 April 2026, bringing together students from CS 5th semester, SE 4th semester, CY 4th semester, and BCA 4th semester for an engaging and knowledge-driven session focused on emerging technologies and evolving industry trends.
The event provided students with valuable opportunities to learn directly from experienced industry professionals and technology leaders. The Faculty was honored to host Babar Zahoor, Founder of the Open Source Foundation of Pakistan (OSFP) and an expert in AI and cloud-native solutions, along with Saleem Rafik, a specialist in business innovation and growth strategies.
During the session, the guest speakers shared insightful discussions, practical experiences, and industry perspectives on modern technological advancements, open-source ecosystems, artificial intelligence, cloud-native technologies, innovation strategies, and the future direction of the technology sector. Their interactive talks enabled students to better understand the rapidly changing demands of the tech industry and the importance of continuous learning and skill development.
