BSCS Students Visit Lycus Inc. for Industry Exposure and Practical Software Development Insights

The BS Computer Science 8th semester students from Riphah International University, Gulberg Greens Campus, visited Lycus Inc. on 4 December as part of an industrial learning initiative aimed at providing students with practical exposure to professional software development environments.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to interact with the leadership and technical teams at Lycus Inc. Munawar Saeed (CEO) shared valuable insights into the company’s journey, organizational growth, project architecture, and modern technology practices adopted within the software industry.
A detailed technical session was conducted by Mudasir Hussain (Technical Team Lead), who introduced students to key aspects of software engineering and project management, including requirement engineering, sprint planning, ticket management, client coordination, and Agile/Scrum workflows. The session provided students with practical understanding of industry-standard development methodologies and collaborative engineering practices.
Students also gained hands-on exposure to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), daily standup meetings, backlog grooming processes, CI/CD-oriented collaboration, and the dynamics of cross-functional software development teams. The visit enabled participants to connect their academic learning with real-world industry operations and emerging software engineering practices.
The industrial visit was organized by Dr. Shamaila Qayyum and accompanied by Dr. Naurin Farooq Khan and Ms. Tazzaina Malik.
