DDL Delivers Structured Training on Digital Course Authoring for RIMS
Thursday, 22nd January 2026
The Department of Digital Learning (DDL) delivered a comprehensive structured training on Digital Course Authoring to faculty and staff of the Riphah Institute of Media Sciences (RIMS) on 22nd January 2026 at the I-14 Main Campus, Islamabad. The training equipped participants with the foundational knowledge and practical tools required to design, develop, and deliver high-quality digital courses aligned with Riphah's academic and quality standards.
The training was structured around three carefully designed modules, each addressing a critical dimension of digital course development - from instructional design principles and technology integration frameworks to Riphah's own multi-step content development process. The session underscored DDL's continuing commitment to building faculty capacity in digital pedagogy and supporting the university's broader e-learning goals.
Training Modules:
- Instructional Design Using ADDIE
- Technology Integration in Course Design
- Course Authoring Process @ Riphah
Modules 1 and 2 were delivered by Mubashir Ahmad, Manager of Digital Learning & Design, and were followed by an interactive discussion session with participants. The training concluded with Module 3, led by Muhammad Saud Khan, Director of Digital Learning, who provided an in-depth walkthrough of Riphah's nine-step course authoring process — from the initial idea through to LMS launch.
Training Participants (RIMS): Dr. Muhammad Rashid, Dr. Afzaal Yousaf Baig, Dr. Nabila Tabassum, Dr. Muhammad Shahid, Muhammad Waqar Ali, Mirza Zaib Hassan
The training highlighted Riphah's approach to Digital Course Authoring With Original Content — an initiative that enables faculty and staff to design and develop original digital courses using their subject-matter expertise. This approach is particularly suited to courses requiring institution-specific content, original instructional design, or alignment with accredited academic or professional frameworks.
The training is part of DDL's broader mandate to promote a culture of quality digital learning across Riphah's network of campuses and institutes.
