Saturday, 14th February 2026
The Faculty of Rehabilitation & Allied Health Sciences (FRAHS), Riphah International University, successfully organized the 5th International Undergraduate Rehabilitation & Allied Health Symposium (IUG-RAS 2026) on 14th February 2026 at the Gulberg Greens Campus, Islamabad.
Held under the theme “AI-Driven Innovation, Integration and Impact,” the symposium brought together national and international experts, academic leaders, clinicians, and undergraduate researchers to examine the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare education and rehabilitation practice.
A distinctive feature of IUG-RAS 2026 was the successful execution of 17 Pre-Symposium Workshops, structured across three major domains: Research Skills, Digital & AI Tools, and Scholarly Dissemination. These workshops provided participants with hands-on exposure to emerging technologies and research methodologies relevant to contemporary rehabilitation sciences.
The scientific program showcased 105 research presentations, including 33 oral presentations and 72 poster presentations, reflecting strong undergraduate research engagement. The symposium was further enriched by international keynote addresses from Prof. Dr. Lori Maria Walton and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Francesco Vincenzo Ferraro, who delivered insightful talks on the “Digital Mind” and AI-driven recovery paradigms in rehabilitation sciences.
A hallmark of the event was the Young Researcher’s Award Competition, recognizing excellence in undergraduate scholarly work. The winner and runner-up were awarded cash prizes of PKR 50,000 and PKR 25,000 respectively, acknowledging their outstanding research contributions.
The symposium concluded with appreciation for collaborators from academia, clinical services, and industry whose participation strengthened the young researchers’ platform. The continued guidance and support of university leadership played a pivotal role in advancing this impactful academic initiative.
Through IUG-RAS 2026, FRAHS reaffirmed its commitment to research excellence, innovation in healthcare education, and the integration of AI-driven solutions within rehabilitation sciences.
