Riphah and Radio Pakistan Conclude Inter-University Digital Content Creation Competition on World Radio Day

An Inter-University Digital Content Creation Competition, organized to commemorate World Radio Day, successfully concluded on February 12 in Islamabad. The event was jointly arranged by the Riphah Institute of Media Sciences (RIMS), Riphah International University, and Radio Pakistan Rawalpindi, bringing together students from various universities across the twin cities for a vibrant showcase of creative talent.
The closing ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. Anis Ahmad, Vice Chancellor of Riphah International University; Ms. Masarrat Sharrukh, Director Programs, Radio Pakistan; and Atif, Station Director, Radio Pakistan Rawalpindi, along with faculty members, media professionals, and a large number of students.
Addressing the audience, Dr. Riaz Adil, Head of Department, Riphah Institute of Media Sciences, described Radio Pakistan as a national asset that has played a vital role in promoting national identity and cohesion. He expressed pride in hosting the event on World Radio Day and congratulated the participating students, emphasizing that the creative potential of youth is a strong foundation for the country’s future.
In his remarks, Professor Dr. Anis Ahmad highlighted the historical and social significance of radio, recalling its influential role before and after the creation of Pakistan. He noted that radio has consistently served as a powerful voice for public awareness and national unity. He encouraged students to recognize the continued relevance of radio in the digital era and to promote responsible, constructive communication. The Vice Chancellor also reaffirmed Riphah’s commitment to sustained collaboration with Radio Pakistan in future initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Masarrat Sharrukh emphasized that radio remains one of Pakistan’s most effective communication mediums. She appreciated the partnership between Riphah Institute of Media Sciences and Radio Pakistan Rawalpindi, noting that such collaborative platforms inspire young individuals to utilize media positively and productively.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of performance-based certificates to students who demonstrated outstanding achievements in the competition, celebrating their creativity and dedication in the field of digital media.
