Borrowing Policy

- Faculty members, students, and staff are eligible to borrow library materials.
- University alumni can apply for a Reader’s Card at the ISD circulation counter. Alumni who wish to borrow materials may obtain a Borrower’s Card by paying an annual fee of Rs. 1000/- plus a refundable deposit of Rs. 5000/-.

Check-out and Check-in
- Check-out: Patrons can borrow materials using their student or employee card, regardless of their registered campus. Borrowed books can also be reissued as per policy.
- Check-in: Materials must be returned to the circulation counter before or on the due date. Items borrowed from one campus can be returned at another.
Renewal of Books
Books can be renewed unless:
- Borrowing privileges have expired.
- Another user has placed a hold on the item.
Short-Term Borrowing
- Newspapers and Magazines: Available for short-term borrowing for photocopy purposes.
- Theses and Project Reports: Accessible within the library premises.
Book Bank Service
Patrons can borrow a wide range of course-related books for an entire semester through the Book Bank.
Resource Sharing
Our union catalog pools resources from all campuses. Patrons can borrow or return materials from any campus, with campus heads facilitating the transfer to the parent campus.
Clearance Services
- At the end of the term, students, faculty, and staff must obtain clearance from the circulation counter as part of their exit process.
