Dr. Rashid Aftab
Dr. Rashid Aftab has done Ph.D. in “Public Policies and Governance perspective-Education” Sector in Pakistan’s Perspective” from Utrecht University, Netherlands, further he also hold a degrees of MBA, MSc (Organizational Sciences & Good Governance), BSc (Engineering) and Postgraduate Diploma in IT
At the moment he is heading and working as Director, Riphah Institute of Public Policy, Riphah International University, Islamabad also acting as Director, Campus as well as Director of an International academic and training program. He has also worked as Director in PCRWR, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad and handling number of projects including Project Director of one of the project. He was also the focal person of Korean Cooperation Agency (KOICA) assisted project for the establishment of National Capacity Building Institute on Water Quality which would be first of its kind to offer certificate/diploma courses.
Previously he was associated with Pakistan Gems & Jewelry Development Company and acted as one of the key professional in establishing various training centers throughout the country. He possess rich experience of more than 20-years in various public/private sectors. He was involved in Planning, Coordinating, and Monitoring/Evaluation of various Socio-economic, Human Resources Development, SME and Telecom projects in; Ministry of Science & Technology, Ministry of Environment Local Govt. & Rural Development, Ministry of Industries & Production and NayaTel/Micronet Broadband Ltd. The coordination and liaison with international agencies like: UNESCO, World Bank, USAID, UNDP, Asian Development Bank, ICIMOD, UNIDO and J.E.Austin remained the salient feature of his job assignments. The administration and management of resources i.e. Human, Material & Money have remained his core competencies.
He arranges number of seminars/workshops, training programs, Board meetings and often work as speaker, presenter and facilitator. Primary areas of his strengths are: Institutional Development and Linkages, Coordination, documenting minutes, developing strategies and succession planning, Programming Analysis, Government/International Liaison, Human Resource Management, Public Relations, Management and Strategic Alliances and above all Project Management.
