Dr. Faqeeha Javed is an Assistant Professor/supervisor in the RCRAHS faculty of Riphah International University, Lahore, Pakistan. Dr. Faqeeha has completed M.Sc in Medical Technology (2011-2013) from the University of Health Sciences, Lahore, whereas M.Phil (2015-2017) and PhD (Molecular Biology/2017-2023) from Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB), University of the Punjab Lahore. Dr. Faqeeha trained greatly as Molecular Biologist in STR analysis from Forensic Research Lab, CEMB (2015-2023). She was involved in STR and SNP-based genetic and epigenetic profiling. Her medical technology background helped her devise and publish interdisciplinary research projects in nanotechnology, population genetics and health sciences with a focus on early detection and genetic risks of infectious and non-infectious diseases in South Asian populations. Moreover, she has experience running the Pathology Laboratory. Research Inputs Dr. Faqeeha published many research articles in highly peer-reviewed international journals on health and forensic sciences. During her stay at the University of Punjab Lahore she contributed rare STR allelic data to worldwide searchable databases like the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology USA) STR database, STRidER database, and Y-STR data to YHRD (Y-STR Haplotype Reference Database). Dr. Faqeeha, in her PhD at CEMB, developed a novel multiplex system for the simultaneous detection of 19 Rapidly Mutating YSTRs in deep-rooted pedigrees from Pakistan. She also co-organized international symposia for advances in molecular biology of plants and health sciences at the Centre. In developing genetic and epigenetic correlates in the field health science concerning applied and research areas in the country, she is fully confident to add value, by sharing her expertise. Also, she can work in interdisciplinary research domains. Moreover, she is adept at using R and Python in the field of statistical analysis. Research interests Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Forensic Genetics, Y chromosome, population Genetics, Evolutionary Genetics, STR multiplex development, emerging technologies for human identification.
